Philly pharmacist charged by feds in oxycodone scheme – Philadelphia Inquirer

The U.S. Attorney’s Office said Arlene Gerson, 46, abused her position as a pharmacist in working with Jeffrey Handy, 33, to use blank prescription pads as a way of obtaining the addictive painkiller.

Alleged pill mill doc faces more charges, including death –

A 73-year-old Upper Moreland doctor has been charged with distributing drugs that resulted in the death of a Florida native earlier this year.

Dr. Norman Werther, 73, is facing between 20 years and life in prison if convicted of all the charges against him.

New Jersey man jailed on drug charges –

BENSALEM — A New Jersey man was jailed late Tuesday for allegedly selling prescription drugs to an undercover police officer.

Samad Castro, 28, of East Orange, was charged with two felony counts of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver, police said.

He allegedly sold 51 Oxycodone 30 mg pills for $1,330 to police on Tuesday near Rock Hill Drive, (more…)
