Pharmacist admits role in conspiracy to distribute oxycodone – Bryan-College Station Eagle

CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) — A pharmacist has admitted his role in what authorities say was a long-running conspiracy to illegally distribute and dispense large quantities of oxycodone and other drugs from two pharmacies in a New Jersey town.

Bergen Doc Who Sold Oxycodone Scripts in a Rockland Parking Lot Sentenced

Frederick Weintraub, a New Jersey podiatrist convicted of selling Oxycodone prescriptions for cash, was sentenced Friday to 18 months in prison.

“A doctor selling prescriptions for cash in a hotel parking lot is a drug dealer perpetuating one of America’s #1 health threats – opioid abuse,” said DEA Special Agent in Charge James Hunt.

New Jersey man gets 10 years for role in oxycodone ring –

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) – A Paterson man has received a 10-year prison sentence for leading an oxycodone ring that authorities say illegally distributed more than 1,000 pills per week in northern New Jersey.

Aurelio Gutierrez had pleaded guilty in June to a charge of promoting organized street crime.

Attorney General Christopher Porrino says the 62-year-old Gutierrez, of Paterson, used numerous “runners” to obtain (more…)
