Death from analgesic overdose, including the painkillers oxycodone and codeine, is more concentrated in economically disadvantaged neighborhoods with a prevalence of high divorce, single-parent homes than deaths from unintentional causes, according to research conducted at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health. Three Simi Valley men who were arrested by the Ventura County Interagency Pharmaceutical Crimes Unit on suspicion of selling oxycodone have been released from jail.
The men were booked into the Ventura County Jail on July 17 in lieu of $50,000 bail each.
