FAIRBANKS — A Fairbanks man was sentenced Friday to two years in federal prison for his part in a Fairbanks drug distribution ring that sold crack, cocaine powder and oxycodone and tried to shield the activity by claiming they were operating a recording business.

A Las Vegas man accused of illegally transporting prescription painkillers to Alaska faces 15 years in prison.
The U.S. Attorney in Nevada says 28-year-old Nicholas Ghafouria pleaded guilty to money laundering, conspiracy and criminal forfeiture charges on Monday. He agreed to spend 15 years in prison, but will be officially sentenced in January.

A Sacramento man has been sentenced in federal court in Juneau, Alaska, for his role in a drug conspiracy that authorities say involved deliveries of oxycodone from Sacramento to Juneau.
Marquis Thomas, 31, of Sacramento was sentenced Friday to five years of probation.
Also sentenced in the case were Juneau residents Brent Maki, Sally Jean Maki, Michael Travis Miller and Jason Rivera.
