Police arrested a 36-year-old Williamsburg man accused of transporting multiple types of drugs — including crack and oxycodone — from his car with intent to distribute in York County.

Orlando Antonio Harris was taken into custody on April 12 and faces multiple charges of drug possession. The charges include felony, possession and transport of a firearm; manufacturing, sale and possession of a controlled substances; obtaining drugs by fraud; two counts of possession of scheduled I or II controlled substances and use of unsafe equipment, according to Lt. Dennis Ivey, York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office.

Harris, who according to court documents lives in Williamsburg, was transported to Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail. He is being held there pending a court hearing.

Late evening on April 11, police say during a traffic stop officers pulled over Harris, who drove a white Toyota Avalon in the 6300 block of Richmond Road, after noticing one of the headlights was out.

Upon approaching the vehicle, officers smelled the odor of marijuana. With further investigation police say they found in the vehicle a glass jar with a large piece of crack and a pill bottle.

Police also said Harris had six oxycodone pills.

In the trunk of the vehicle, police say they found a black revolver and a digital scale. Harris was taken into custody and police later found another package with bags of marijuana.

Harris is scheduled for a video hearing with bond at York General District Court Monday.
