CASPER, Wy.(KGWN)- Converse County Detention Officer Mike Martinez is under arrest in Casper and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
According to court documents, Detectives with the Operations Support Team were informed by a reliable but unnamed sourced that Martinez would be delivering Oxycodone to a certain location in Casper. Martinez had provided the source of picture of a bottle of acne cleanser with the label Oxy on the items when asked what favors he had. One Detective recognized “favors” through his training and experience as a street term often used for illegal drugs.
Martinez indicated in the conversation that he would be delivering Oxycodone to the source. The location and location was predetermined and given to Martinez by the source.
Once Detectives observed Martinez’s vehicle he said he would be in at the location, they made contact. Officers searched the vehicle and found a prescription pill bottle which was prescribed to Martinez, and had 10 oxycodone pills inside. Officers also took an iPhone from the vehicle, as detectives believed it would contain evidence of the conversation between Martinez and the source.
Martinez was taken to the Natrona County Detention Center by Casper Police officers, where he was charged with possession with intent to deliver pills of Oxycodone.
The Converse County Detention Center has placed Martinez on administrative leave.
