INDIAN RIVER COUNTY (CBS12) — The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office arrested two people and seized guns, cash and drugs during a raid.
Authorities with the Multi-Agency Criminal Enforcement unit, or MACE, served two search warrants, one at a home on 42nd Lane and another at a home on 39th Avenue last weekend.
Deputies arrested 41-year-old Terrance Taylor and 23-year-old Rashard Williams. Both men are from Gifford.
Authorities recovered a loaded AK-47, Oxycodone and Hydromorphone pills, crack cocaine, a motorcycle and $2,500 in drug money.
Taylor remains jailed on charges of possession of crack cocaine and felony violation of probation. More charges are pending.
Williams is free on bond. He’s been charged with possession of crack cocaine, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
“During both search warrants, we spoke with neighbors who were glad we were out taking drug dealers out of their area,” said Sheriff Deryl Loar. “On Friday’s search warrant, the residence we searched was directly across the street from a daycare. On the Second, a number of children were playing in the street as we searched the apartment,” said Loar.
Investigators expect to make an additional arrest in the investigation.
