Lane County traffic stop yields hundreds of Oxycodone pills, arrest of Olympia man -…

Troopers found nearly 800 Oxycodone tablets during a traffic stop Wednesday in Lane County.

An Olympia man was arrested near Goshen after Oregon State Police clocked his Dodge Charger at 92 mph and found a cellophane-wrapped bundle of Oxycodone on his passenger’s lap.

Approximately 8 a.m. Wednesday, troopers pulled over the 22-year-old driver, identified as Dominique A. Woods, on Interstate 5, where the posted speed limit is 65 mph. The trooper noticed that the passenger, Katrina A. Sharpe, 21, also of Olympia, had the prescription painkillers on her lap, authorities said.

A K-9 unit was called in and subsequently located 10 grams of marijuana and more Oxycodone, state police said. Troopers said 791 tablets were found in the vehicle.

Woods was arrested on accusations of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and being a fugitive from justice in Washington. It’s unclear what charges he faces in his home state.

He was lodged into the Lane County Jail.
