NORTH HAVEN >> Two people were charged with illegally obtaining tablets of Oxycodone in separate incidents.
On Friday, 49-year-old Wakil Rashid, of New Haven, was taken into custody without incident at the CVS Pharmacy on Washington Avenue in North Haven after he allegedly tried to obtain Oxycodone illegally, according to a release posted on the North Haven Police Facebook page.
A pharmacist said that Rashid presented a script from a prescription pad that had been stolen and fraudulently presented to other area pharmacies. After police searched Rashid, they reportedly found him to be in possession of six Oxycontin tablets.
Rashid is charged with possession of narcotics and illegally obtaining a prescription drug. He is scheduled to appear Aug. 14 in Meriden court.
In a separate incident, 67-year-old Margaret Colasuonno, of Hamden, allegedly used a forged prescription from a Pain Treatment Center to obtain 90 tablets of Oxycodone. Police did not provide the date of the incident.
She was charged with illegally obtaining a prescription drug and is scheduled to appear Aug. 21 in Meriden court.
