A Forest Grove man faces criminal charges after police say he stole painkillers from four pharmacies in Hillsboro and Beaverton for two months.
Adam Michael Horstman, 28, used notes, a small handgun and implied having a weapon in his shirt in May and June to demand Oxycodone pills from pharmacies in Rite Aid and Albertsons, said Lt. Michael Rouches, a Hillsboro police spokesman.
According to Rouches, Horstman stole Oxycodone from a Rite Aid pharmacy on Northwest 185th Avenue in Hillsboro on May 18, an Albertsons on West Baseline Street in Hillsboro on June 3, Albertsons on Southwest Hall Boulevard in Beaverton on June 18 and another Albertsons on Northeast 25th Avenue in Hillsboro on June 30.
Horstman returned to the Rite Aid on June 30 with a legitimate prescription request, Rouches said. The pharmacists recognized Horstman from the May incident, filled his prescription and later gave police his home address, according to Rouches.
Horstman left an Albertsons on June 3 with 200 Oxycodone pills, Rouches said. Investigators are still determining the total number of pills taken.
