Two men who led police on a short chase on Saturday were arrested on drug charges, authorities said.
Scott Bragdon, 28, of Holliston, and Sean Tigue, 39, of Franklin, were arrested Saturday at 2 a.m. on Cedar Street.
Patrolling officers saw two cars pull out of a driveway on Rte. 85 early Saturday morning. One of them was speeding so an officer tried to pull it over, prosecutor Maggie Pastuszak said.
Instead, the car accelerated and turned down several streets before it pulled into a Cedar Street driveway, she said.
Police searched the driver, Tigue, who had a container with more than 90 oxycodone pills of various strengths, Pastuszak said. They also found heroin behind Bragdon’s seat.
Tigue, of 155 East Central St., was charged with possession of heroin with the intent to distribute, possession of oxycodone with the intent to distribute (subsequent offence) and failure to stop, police said. Tigue was also cited for speeding.
Bragdon, of 28 Gregory Road, was charged with possession of oxycodone (subsequent offense) and possession of heroin with the intent to distribute.
After his arrest, Tigue posted $500 bail. But Pastuszak asked Judge Robert Greco to add another $500 bail on top of that.
“It is a subsequent offense, which is a superior court charge,” she said.
Tigue’s lawyer, Michael Brennan, argued that the $500 was plenty to ensure his client came to court. Greco did not increase the bail.
Both men are due back in court on Aug. 14 for a pretrial conference.
